How far should I disassemble my Enfield before taking it to the range the 1st time?

Pretty much so......... It has great water resisting qualities. Just the thing you need for the barrel and body that's hidden under the woodwork. But alas, the tinkerers always wipe it off. Such is life!

Fellows: Any idea from whom I can purchase that tiny retaining pin that goes thru the rear sight pivot pin? I know this is not the proper British term for it but ...heck Im a Texan and doing the best I can.

BDL has them. Might be a good excuse to stock up on some of his other goodies.

The usual practice around here is to make a replacement pin from a small brad, a paper clip, "music wire", or any other piece of round steel having the appropriate diameter for a snug fit. No rocket surgery required.

I'll let you into a little secret.......... What usually happens in unit Armourers shops is pretty well just what parashooter says. There is a handy 1/2" nail/panel pin that is the exact diameter size that you need. We'd get a box of a zillion, cut to size as required and use them. Hammer a small flat on the top and tap it into the backsight axis pin. The small flat will ensure that it stays there
