303 Loads For Whitetail & Coyotes???

I load a bunch of other calibers and will start working up something for my No4 Mk1 soon. This rifle has a real strong bore and should (I hope) do well with a 150gr SP bullet. Due to the fact I am a noob at the 303 My biggest question is powder. I am an accuracy nut, but realize there are limitations to this package. So, where do y'all suggest I start?

The closest canister grade powder to what was used in the 303 is DuPont ( IMR ) 3031. Consult a good reloading manual or Hodgdon online Data base.

Cool, I have enough 3031 to try, primers on the other hand are getting low....

I have used Reloader 15 with great results using 170grn bulk pack Remington bullets. Took a 95 lb doe at about 60 yds with the battle sights. The old no. 4 still has a lot of life in her.

If you go with 174 or 180 grain bullets then change powder to IMR 4064. You will get better results.

How much 4064 would you use under a 174 projectile??

...what kind of an answer is this?? The purpose of this thread is to share reloading information.

It's the kind of answer that keeps you from getting hurt by some Bubba load that makes your firearm come apart in your face.

My load is a 180grs bullet with 37,7grs VV N140, BR 2 Primer and a COL 77.9 mm. Works great out of my rifles.

JBS isnt so wrong. Sometimes it is a bit better to control the load datas by using the manuals from the powder maker. So you can see if it is a " hot load " wich isnt the best advice by using old milsurps. Also possible a typing mistake wich can happen to everybody.
