i think the dust cover is a Krag deal..

US Model of 1917 cover. The Krag has ears for the trigger guard and two leather tie thongs are stitched to the cover on both the top & bottom. This one is smooth and has eyelets for the single thong. Probably 5 snaps on the opposite side which would tell the tale!
