Remington 03 1-42 barrel..
In a local pawn shop. The SN#3042649 makes it 1941 if data is correct. The stock is a nice ding free walnut straight stock with two brass pins. Bolt, shroud and safety tab are R marked. Nosecap/bayo lug is R, barrel band is milled and marked U and R. The ON OFF tab is marked R. The barrel is RA 1-42 and the bore is dirty but should clean up. The trigger assembly is stamped sheet metal and thin on finish compared to the rest of the metal.. The rear sight is windage adjustable but I can't seem to find an R stamp on it. There are no rebuild stamps on the stock and there is no P stamp. I can get this one for $575 OTD. Just looking for some feedback.

At least the stock should have bolts, and the housing should be milled.

Coneten, your information source is incorrect. The receiver dates to about March, 1942 and the barrel is original. The stock and trigger guad are from a later Remington M1903 or early 1903A3; the rear sight is probably a replacement.

Rick, Thanks for the reply. I am just going to stop using that link for Old Guns Net. When I did the search and got the 1941 date I started getting info on an earlier rifle thought they had a straight stock with brass pins. I will probably pass on it.

I talked to the webmaster of Oldguns and he says this site is the only place he knows that still maintains a link. If you go to Oldguns directly, their link takes you to Vishooter's website.
