    Odd finish on Russian TT-33

I recently obtained my third Russianicon TT-33 and this one is a little different. There are no import or rebuild markings. It has a matching magazine. The frame and slide blued over a sandblasted finish except for the polished flat sides of the side. Has anyone seen this type of finish on Russian TT-33's?

I am guessing that it may have been a vet bring back from Korea or Viet Nam and it got rust cover some where along the line. Someone sand blasted it to remove the rust, then parkerized it. Too bad as most of the value is gone but how is the bore and have you shot it yet.
