A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I have one of those mounts. It is a commercial mount, apparently from a company in Aussieland. Been meaning to mount it on a sporterized No1MkIII and use a Weaver K3 on it. Congrats on the scope purchase.

The mount is a Parker Hale "Continental", or a close copy.

Ah! I made that mistake too. Looking at it again I see that the seller was expecting 1500 pounds for it & received one offer of 800 which he declined. I know genuine sniping equipment always attracts a premium but to put it politely I don't think there's much danger of him making a sale if he's hanging out for 1500. Even with its original dovetail mount that price would be a bit OTT, at least, IMHO.
