    Picked up a great VZ24

Picked up this nice one on Thursday. Great little non-refurb and all matching 1926 mfgr BRNO VZ24. Pre-rampant (rampart - lol) lion czech military VZ24 with a 1926 czech army acceptance stamp. Nice walnut thstock that hasn't been sanded and has a great oxidized flax oil finish that is so well handled it almost looks like varnish.

I don't see how this one would NOT be an axis-issued weapon in WW2 after Czechoslovakiaicon's annexation in 1938. It's either a vet bringback, or a war reparations rifle that came in before the big importers started applying markings in the 1960's.

Refreshing change from the usual refurbs.

Any crescent moon stamps? Czechicon Army, but no Germanicon/Rumania acceptance stamps. Hard one to figure. It ended up somewhere that put it in a rack and left it alone.

No, no evidence of Turkishicon use. I'm thinking it's a Wehrmacht-issued gun that just never went back to depot for rebuild before being captured, maybe because it never got broken or was in service in a remote area. Only a small percentage of VZ24's were rebuilt to G24(t) configuration, and I think this is simply one of those guns that was not converted.

It's unusual to see one as early as 1926 that is not refurbed though.
