Pics of GI web gear I scored

I picked this set up the other day. It came with the suspenders, cuffs, ammo poches holster and even a GI whistle. My Victory 38 is right at home in it. Paid $27 for the whole set!

I think that it is. Seems like the AP's we dealt with did carry the 38. I was an Army Mp during the 70's and we used 1911's.it also looks like what the WAC's used. I remember sitting around and seeing who had the oldest 1911 after getting them out of the Arms room, we just didn't know how much all of those "old" guns would become worth one day! We also had tons of WWII era trench sweeper shotguns that I would love to have now.

From what I can gather the AP's used Mod 15 S&W. You can even find them marked to places like Andrews' AFB on occasion.
