Looking for information on British 22 rim fire
Some years ago, I was given about 500 round of the 22 rim fire packed in 100 rd boxes and was told it was excellent for target shooting. I have never used any but will soon, anyone have any information about these cartridges ?Attachment 53223

Well it's modern stuff compared with that which we were given when I learnt to shoot - that went back to the 1947 vintage, and had occasional misfires. The good stuff was kept for matches and the last training sessions before matches. It works OK - most of the time. But 1979 is, well, not 2014. And I am not aware that ammo improves with age. Furthermore, old rimfire bullets have often turned "crusty" as the lubricant has reacted with the lead.
If the bullets show a whitish surface, forget it, unless you think that your bore will profit from being polished by crystals of lead salts.
