The rifles are trapdoors aren't they? Never saw a Krag with the sling connected at the front of the triggerguard. Yet...

Trapdoors, indeed. The lucky devils! Supposedly the 9th New York Vol. never fired a shot in anger during the Spanish-American War. They did fire more than a few shots in anger during the Civil War.
