making the M6 suvival rifle legal,

a while back, i took this project on for a customer, to make the M6 .22Hornet over .410 legal to own here in the US..
as they come 14 inches long,,and need to be 18 inches.
so, extentions need to be welded on the end..and hered how i did it.
i have more then a few scrap barrels laying around, so i cut a couple sections of a P14 DP barrel i had, and on the .410 reamed it out just over sized, then counter set it so that it would fit tight over the muzzle.
then turned the outside to just about the same diameter of the original, leaving a small step, and turned it down so the front sight would slip over nice and tight.
for the .22Hornet, i just turned the outside and counter bored the rear so it fits tight as well, then turned the front muzzle end so the sight would fit tight, set it up straight, and welded the extentions on.
refinished to match the original finish, hand cut the sight key notch and installed the front sight, just like it was before.
now, its almost 19 inches, so no matter who measures it, it will always come out legal.

That's pretty cool! Is the .22 extension non-rifled?

I just called you a few minutes ago, BTW. About a carbine.
