Is this style too late for a 1943 Savage? Not manufactured in 1943?

I have no documented proof, but based on Savage rifles I own and have seen, it looks as if Savage switched to this bracket and sling swivel (Mk2) in mid-1943. I have several mid-1943 and 1944 rifles and with the exception of the FTR'd ones, they all have the bracket and sling swivel pictured above.

As stated, no proof of this, just my observation.

Stratton is incorrect, as I suggested?
