Any chance a type I N marked frt sight could be original to a 1,713,062 Rock Ola?

And Housing Question...
Also wouldn't a type IV trigger housing be to late for this same 1,713,062 RMC? It has a type IV on it.....but I assume I'll be looking for a type II........
Right?
TIA

NPM sent around 11,000 front sights to Rock-ola at the end of 1943.
Good chance most were type1 marked N, but I have no info on the type.
Maybe Brian or Bruce can fill us in. Does your front sight have the Rock-ola stake marks?

My 1,740,xxx Rock-Ola has same sight on Rock-Ola (undated) barrel (for what little this information is worth).

N on a front sight (behind the front blade) is a Neidner sight. A NN front sight is a National Postal Meter sight made by Neidner. Alot of Inlands wore the N front sight sight,I am sure they had a contract with Inland, they probably made replacement sights that went into the supply chain also. Late in Neidners contract, they could not meet the requirements and Rudy Furnace took over the contract. The letter R was stamped in place of the N (another misconception that Rockola made the front sight).
As far as the trigger housing, I would yes on the T2.

Charlie, my 1.729 has a front sight made by Saginaw with their familiar grove behind the blade. It also has the Rock-Ola stake marks around the pin of -O- on either side, and a small R on lower right corner of the front flat. Every original Rock-Ola installed front sight I've seen has these front sight pin stake marks. hth
It has a type 2 trigger housing.

Charlie, Inland didn't send any sights to Rock-Ola but NPM did send a bit over 10,000 front sights during December 1943. NPM was using the N marked sight at that time. But then it might be a little bit too late for your serial number. Your trigger housing should be a type 2 as stated above. hth
