    OT: Campaign Souvenir

Here is a rare "Reznick Radio Shop" guitar, a re-branded Gibson model KG-11 made for the Resnick Music Shop of Winston-Salem, NC, by Gibson in 1937. Norman Byerly of the 1st Armored Division, carved into the back the towns he passed through as he traveled through the Eastern Theater during the war. The stories this guitar could tell! The current owner will be taking it down to offer it for loan to the WWII Museum in New Orleans soon.

I came across this on a guitar forum.

The fact that it even survived & considering the provenance I would be very surprised and disappointed if they do not offer to display it.
I hope they have some detailed information on Norman Byerly to display along with it. Personal items like this truly bring the human element of history
    alive.
