    Kar98az Bolt

Hello all. So, I have an otherwise matching KAR98AZ that is beautiful except the bolt, and magazine floorplate/follower do not match. The bolt is from a Kar98kicon and so I wonder if it was rebuilt? Do not bare a 1920 stamp. Perhaps the bolt was stuck in there by an importer? But then what about the floor plate?

Next thought on this is to take a Gew98 bolt and turn it down like an original (I've got an example to work off) and then have the bolt handle cut and knurled... and not necessarily in that order...

Or, as it sits now, is it correct as a WWII rebuild?

If you're talking about the bolt pictured, I believe I can still get a hold of that one for you. It came with a k98 I bought at auction, and I traded a friend for a k98 bolt, let me know if you would like me to track it down. It shouldn't be too hard.

edit: Question about Mauser bolt. link to my original thread, with more photos.

    Hello guys,

I'm new to the forum and trying to put a kar98a back together also, currently i'm missing the but plate, proper front barrel band & screw, and the proper bolt. If this one is not already gone to a good home, would you be willing to part with it or maybe possible knowwhere i can find some other parts for this kar98a?

    Thanks in advance,
    Speed1275

    Hi,
I have a KAR98A bolt body in VG condition. The internals are the same as the k98k bolt so you could use your actual parts in this KAR98a body.

Score. And, while I am at it, another of my friends needs a Kar98a trigger which seems to be pretty unique and seemingly hard to find... Any leads?
