Kornbush mod98
Any of you mauser fellas know anything about a model 98 with KORNBUSH stamped on the top of the receiver? i saw this sportorized '98 in for a trigger job at a local gunsmith shop, whoever sportorized it did a really nice job and chambered it in 25-06, looks like the work was done quite awhile ago by a skilled smith. i cannot find anything on KORNBUSH for mauser '98's. thanks for any info you can provide.

Waffenwerke Oberspree Kornbusch. A somewhat rare WWI Mauser manufacturer. They were owned by Mauser or DWM, don't recall specifics. Closed after WWI and not re-opened during WWII. Re-barreling a WWI 98 into .25-'06 not the brightest idea. The WWI receivers were not the hardest of Mausers and the late 1918 Mausers are nothing like the early 1914 versions.
