Unmarked M1905 Bayonet WW2 Production
I recently picked up what appears to be an unmarked & unissued WW2 production M1905. There are no markings on the ricasso, crossbar, or hilt - not even a steellot. It has rounded fullers and a blunt point. The finish, weight, balance matches other WW2 M1905s. I'll have to wait until this weekend to compare it to others to see if I can zero in on which of the six companies made this one. The grips are AB (Auburn Button Works) deep red/brown with black flecks. The (bayonet) catch is UC. However the (scabbard) catch and grip screw appear to be replacements and show much more use than the rest of the unit. Maybe made for a display board, VIP gift, who knows.

The brown grips are hard to find alone...

Do some measuring. Barrel thickness, etc. That is in far too new condition and manufacturers during W.W. II were marking fanatics.
Spelling and Grammar count!

Possible "lunch box" liberation by an employee? Just a wild *** guess. It looks too good to be a fake.

I've been collecting M1905s for some years and it's spot-on. In side-by-side comparisons it is very close to late Oneida, Limited models (pommel is almost a dead match) and/or late Springfields (spine thickness and length of the false edge). The spine has some faint chatter (tooling) marks that seem polished away on other M1905s however.

That's a correct unmarked one. The repros are terrible, not even close. Hard to say how it escaped marking.
