3-36 star gauged barrel
I picked up a low numbered R.I. receiver with a SA 3-36 star gauged barrel on it, unfortunately the reciever has been drilled so it's pretty much junk and there a two plugged holes where a scope block was screwed on the barrel. I have a couple questions, could the scope block holes be factory? (arsenal?) and providing the bore is decent what would it be worth roughly? I haven't seen one of these on the loose and am curious what anyone has seen. Thank you

Interesting! While I can't help you with your questions, I also had a 103,000 SA that appeared to be all original except for a 1938 Star Gauge barrel. No idea why the newer barrel was fitted, except possibly by a former civilian owner after the original barrel wore out.
It was a nice-looking rifle, but I had to sell it to fund my NM 1903 purchase last fall. Hated to part with it.
