Rare and Unique Harrington & Richardson "BURRING/SAMPLE" M1icon Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle

Manufactured at an unknown date, the receiver of this M1 Garand only bears 2 markings; the "D-6528291" drawing number on the right receiver leg and "BURRING/SAMPLE" on the receiver in lieu of the traditional manufacturer nomenclature suggesting the rifle was most likely used as an educational tool. All marked parts are original Harrington & Richardson manufactured, including the "6-55" dated barrel and iconic relief cut operating rod.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Correct me if I am wrong - but I thought H&R made M1icon rifle barrels before their rifle production

RCS-- That is correct H&R produced replacement barrels for the US military rebuild programs in the early 50"s. I just happen to have a 1955 H&R that was rebuilt with one of those early barrels, so they were still floating around the supply system for a while.
