numrich m1d kit?
ok, so i have a garand in need of a bbl, and i kind of like the idea of an m1d. numrich sells a m1d kit with a new criterion bbl (known good quality), with a bbl block installed, and 7/8" rings that attach to the mount. has anyone tried one of these out yet. if so, what is the verdict, good, bad, or in between. thanks

I don't know if I'd trust Numrich kits. They need to be pretty tiddley to work right and must be set up right. If your scope mount is out of whack, you won't hit a flock of barns. Not ever.

You might want to just get a new standard barrel in 06 or .308 , or if you decide to go the M1D kit route, get in touch with a reputible gunsmith that specializees in the Garand and go from there. I have seen one really nice M1D built using that kit though, so dont think it isnt possible, and reproduction M84s arent overly expensive either.
