Manufactured around first of April 1944, and approximately 60,000 after slides were last numbered.
Nice Colt.

To Springfield Armory around first of April, 1944. Only a Colt letter will give you exact day of shipment.

John, the stop used in early 1944 was checkered, but without the undercut, and being parked, not blued, do you think its replaced, or could Colt have still had 1911 stops in stock, now being parked?
Thankyou, Andy

It was most likely replaced. It is highly unlikely that Colt used any 1911 parts in late 1911A1s. I have a good stock of A1 parts, and if you would like to replace yours, contact me..
