Colt's Automatic Pistol only $18.50
From the 1902 Sears catalog:
"This is the latest creation from the Colt's Fire Arms Co., one of he strongest pistols ever produced, 8 shots may be fired in one loading, has a range of 500to 1,000 yards, shoots the latest 38-caliber Colt automatic high pressure cartridge and has a velocity of 1,300 fps. In placing this pistol on the market we predict an advent in pistols , for this pistol is made on entirely different principles from revolvers, the magazine is in the handle and it has no cylinder, whereby it differs from revolvers."
Note the velocity of the cartridge: it is the same as the .38 Super. They must've stepped it down pretty quickly after the introduction of the round.
They also advertised various Colt revolvers, Winchester long arms and LC Smith shotguns as well as all Marling long arms and various top break revolvers. They even carried surplus 1866 .50-70 rifles with bayonets for $2.

$18.50? Why, a man could have NINE Springfields for that price and money left over for shells!
