    M1's for Vets Match, Linden Michigan

    Linden Sportsmen Club next sanctioned CMPicon match is scheduled May 31st. This will also be a fundraiser event for "The M1icon's for Vets Project". The first twenty who register will get their choice of CMP T-Shirt's, a donated lunch with refreshments has been aranged and will be served by Troup 111 of the Tall Pines Boy Scouts and trophy plaques will go to the high shooter in all CMP rifle classes.

    Location: Linden Sportsmen Club Date: May 31st, 2009 Time: 8:30 AM Registration 14323 Hogan Rd 9:30 AM Start
    Linden Mi. 48451

    Eligible Rifles: M1 Garand, 1941 Johnson, 1903/A3, Vintage Rifles and M1 Carbine, CMP rule 6.2.4 applies.

    Safety: Eye & Ear protection required, ECI’s mandatory.

    Match Fee: $20.00, lunch included. A competitor may fire a second match for $10.00.

    CMP LC Ammo, 30.06/.30 carbine will be available. $10.00 / 40 rounds.

    Course of Fire: Garand Match A, 100 yards and SR-1 targets.

    Slow Prone: 5 sighter’s maximum with 10 rounds for score in 15 minutes.
    Rapid Prone from Standing: 10 rounds in 80 seconds, reload required.
    Offhand (Standing): 10 rounds in ten minutes.

    Awards: CMP Achievement Pins will be awarded for appropriate scores. Competitors using other service rifles are welcome to shoot while not being eligible for awards.

    The Cause: M1’s for Vets Project was started by John O’Shea of Huntersville, NC. November 2005 with a single rifle presented to a returning wounded Marine, a veteran of the War on Terror. Since then this program has given, as a small token of appreciation for their sacrifice, an example “of the greatest battle implement ever devised” to more than 170 of our countries finest! Donations and spare parts for M1’s will also be gladly accepted!
