    It is the year 1942, The drawing or plate number 36, and the model (as in model 1A) of the WRA M1E1.
    This is from one of the other plates in the series.



    BTW this one.

    is pictured on page 64 in War Baby! You can tell by the spot on the stock, missing barrel band spring, and the shadow on the top adjacent to the butt plate.

    The definition of what Bill Ricca reasearched and found was it was a MASTER FILE DRAWING NUMBER! This was the number used by quartermasters when they ordered the M1icon Carbine for the troops.
