    Underwood project

My Underwood SN2774022 was very close to being correct and now thanks to Paul I., I only need the flip sight which has been located. The rifle was a CMPicon gun and Bavarian Forest Police and Tyrol, Austriaicon police marked. The slide, hammer, handguard and trigger are marked WU, and all other parts marked u/.u. except the unmarked safety. It undoubtedly retained many original parts since it never went through CONUS overhaul. The Postal Meter is coming along too and still looking for a high / oval stock with cartouches. Regards, Rick.

Rick, if the dove tail is staked I'd leave it as it is at this point. It looks good and will make a fine shooter. JMHO

Hello Bill. It is staked very poorly. I am more concerned in putting it back the way it was manufactured while the parts are still available at a reasonable price. We are already seeing very old Mossbergs being parted out for the parts and some of the sights are more rare and bring more money than the rifle. I already know that it's a great shooter and the old flip won't bother me. The chances of finding another Carbine that was used in WWII, then with the Bavarian Police.....then with the Austrian Police that is correct seems a worthwhile project to me. Regards, Rick.
