    Please help with info about this SHT LE MkIII

    I just got this rifle. Serial numbers all match I believe it to be a RSA. Any info you could provide about this rifle would be much appreciated.

    No. The mag is forced matched it has three other numbers marked out. The mag also has a number 2, broad arrow pointing to an H. If that helps.

    If that has the usual Indian service transverse screw through the fore-end, just forwards of the front trigger guard screw then the GF indicates one of the Indian State Forces. In this case, Gudgerat(?) Forces. There are a few of these markings that indicate the old Indian State Forces

    Discolored "stripes" on forestock indicate wood was formerly wrapped at the locations shown here -

    G.F = "Grenade Firing" ? ? ?

    I know this is a cheap shot but the sling is an Uncle Mikes or some such civilian job...

    Yep, Grenade Firing. But I never saw the letters GF marked on one of ours - or grenade firing Sten guns (and No1 revolvers) which were marked GF to indicate Gudgerat Forces. I think that these forces were also called the Princely State Forces. HD was Hyderabad and AL Alambarahad or however you spell it. According to our IALO at work
