Japanese stuff moving up in value
I have seen it slowing going up and I think in the next decade we will see a big interest and increase in Japanese collecting.

Depends what it is. type 99's with ground mums but otherwise in good shape have been going for $145 or less locally at our gun auction. Sporterized sold for $65 on Saturday. A matching number with mums and a bayonet sold for $450 last month, condition wasn't that great either.
I wanted one with a mum but the cheap prices of the others is tempting me.

I would offer $175 , but no more than $200. $225 the bore would have to be perfect and matching ser##. Stock not sanded. Mum looks defaced, but thats ok. Most are. A mum would add $100-150 to the price.

If the stock has not been sanded and refinished that is a very good price.

The days of $20 Arisakas are long past us. With Hornady selling quality ammo and Privi bringing it in also, at a cheaper price, the value and intrest has gone through the roof. Sold 2 last year at prices that almost gave me a heart attack. One was a 2nd series Kokura w/mum, and all matching for $225 and a 4th Series Nagoya, no mum al matching for $180. I paid less than $50 for each of these rifles in 1998. The Kokura had the capture ppw from Guadalcanal. I guess with 1903's and M1's getting pretty pricey, Milsurp collectors are venturing into other catagories.
