Korean 6mm With .244 REM Barrel

This gun was custom bulit by my grandfather and his broter. My grandpa was in WWII navy. Do not know much about this gun. Anyone have any info about origin of the Receiver?

The receiver is from a WW1 era German G98 Mauser. I can't be 100% certain as your photos are a bit small, but it seems to be made by Waffenfabrik Mauser. The date of manufacture will be underneath the scope base on the receiver ring.

Think I found out what the manufacturer of this Receiver. Its a german Gewehr .98.

the barrel is a remington .244, will 6mm fire out of this gun?

The 6mm/244 Rem. cartridges are identical in dimentions. However, rifles chambered for the 244 had a 1-12 twist and the 6mm's have a 1-9 or 10 twist so, if its an original Remington 244 barrel it's not going to reliably stabilize spitzer (pointed) bullets over 90gr.

Could this gun have come from the Korean military, my uncle thought my Grandpa had aquired it from the Korean's.
