One guy is spending around $650 on repo parts that he thinks are original.
I feel sorry for the guy, seller is no guts no glory. Also know as Abcleigh on ebay.

Research takes but a few minutes on the web.
    No time? No info.......
I too hate to see folks taken in, but it's a cruel world out there.
A few minutes of research on the the same medium that took him to George's site would also have told him what he was getting into.
And remember, some folks don't really care.........

That 'Couple Boxes of Inherited Parts' seems to be going a long way!!
I bought a type III push safety from No Guts......as soon as I picked it up...I knew it was a fake.

I've learned a bunch of sites to avoid, but when faced with an actual part I'm usually at a loss.
    (I usually buy on trust.)
I'm ignorant on such things, but that one seems to me to be fairly well done.
The only thing that makes my alarm bells ring is "This looks like a very nice Type 1 Band, 3 weld and marked "UI"."
    No flush cuts etc.
    New build vs. cut down?

Type 1 bands were never cut downs. The type 2 can be made by cutting down a type 3 band. If you look at a real type 2 band the inner ring is recessed and not flush. If you find one that both rings are flush then it's a cut down type 3. This band he is selling is fresh from China. Looks good but it's a fake from the start. Good old George strikes again.

There is a WWII era type II band where the inner band is not always recessed. Sometimes the inner ring is flush and sometimes it even extends forward of the outer ring.

    Thanks, Bruce...
And I guess that just makes the importance of knowing the dealer all the more important.
As I stated before, just a little research will tell a lot about your vendor. It just seems a shame that so few people take the time to do a search before plunking down their dollars. We try to get the word out, but how many buyers really care?
    Thanks for your reply.
