But the guards definately DID have Brens, captured in France. There were Brens in the watchtowers in many POW camps and Lt Longshaw of the Royal Berkshire Regiment confirmed that thet were indeed .303" Brens when a box of fresh magazines was being pulled up to the top on a rope. It swung open and all of the curved Bren mags fell out and the .303" ammo scattered about the ground........... cheered on by the hoots of derision of the prisoners
