    Israeli marked 98k

Can anyone tell me of a good surplus dealer to find a Karabiner 98k with Israeli defense shield on receiver or Israeli stamps?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. You will have to hunt the big gunshows in your area. Not aware of any recent imports.

I second gunbroker. These rifles have all but dried up in recent years. I haven't seen any at the large shows here for about 3 or 4 shows now. They tend to be pretty popular since they are normally in 7.62 and .308 ammo is still cheap and readily available. Good luck and be prepared to spend upwards of probably $400 or so for anything worth owning. Last I had seen any sizable number of Izzy mausers they were listed by a guy on GB as 'gunsmith specials' and boy were they...

Good luck in your quest and keep checking local pawn shops as well.

I bought three of them back in the late 1980s or early 1990s.
I still have two of them, the third went to a friend.
I haven't come across any at gun shows in the past 15 years.
