i think the D with the broad arrow inside may make your revolver Australian issued. Tom

It's definitely Australian issue - the D with a broad arrow in it is an Australian Defence Department marking.
Is anything stamped on the backstrap? It's common to find unit, regiment, or rack numbers there, along with the owner's name sometimes - prior to WWII, officers had to purchase their own guns.
As for the holster - it looks like a proper military one and the markings seem correct, but I don't know as much about holsters as I do about the things which go in them, I'm afraid.

I don't remember seeing an arrow-in-a-D mark in Australia on old kit. But I saw D-arrow-D zillions of times, everywhere. When did the arrow in a D change to DarrowD

The arrow in the D is pre WWI into the between wars era.
