    Charlie,

All original it says. Who's to say, maybe?

The last picture looks to be showing a page from the Harrison book high lighting the marking of the parts. No way to compare wear without seeing them though.

The stock around the oiler is sure beat up, and the other normal dings and dents.

    No bids I see.

    Jim

Man, that does look really nice though. It is not often you see a color match like this one has. However, is it me or if you look close at the receiver finish, it looks like it has been blasted and reparked. In the last picture none of the numbers or letters look crisp.

I think if he started it off lower it may have gone up that high but to start it off that high??? That scares a lot of bidders away.

In Kentucky no less. Must be Eastern KY since I dont reconize the town or county. Too bad I couldn't find one of those at a yardsale or gunshop. Most I see are rebuilds.

First thing, the guy can't even spell Irwin properly. Second, I agree it appears to have been media blasted and reparked. Finally, anybody notice what appears to be a bomb crater in front of the rear sight base? I think it's a restoration. I'm thinking the seller is Rich Crossier. Used to see some of his stuff at the OGCA shows in Cleveland when I lived in the area.

I live in Calloway County. I have been in that area before looking at the map. Deer camp shine is the best..lol

Alot of M1s are around here but havent run into one still in WW2 config. One local gunshop had 8 back in the 90s. Whats got me is the prices. They made alot of the things! Your looking at more than some CW weapons go for. A almost mint NM 1863 Sharps would almost fetch that as well as a M1860 Spencer Rifle which will go for around 4. Even the commom CS weapons sell lower like the CS Richmond musket. Just shocks me and a few local milslurp collectors.
