I think the Aldis scope tubes are larger in diameter than the originally used PPCo 1918 scopes. So a Zielvier should not be working. Are you sure that the Accumount will work with a Zielvier?

The P14 Accumounts are available to support three different scope diameters, 22mm, 1 inch and 26.5mm. I think the ZF39 scopes are 26.5mm, but I will confirm that with one of the repro scope vendors before ordering one. Another option would be to use a Mk. 32, which has both W&E adjustments, but they were never mounted on the P14 that I can find. The ZF39 is the most visually similar to the P1918, but I am concerned about the length, so am looking for that dimension.

The original PPCo scope was a copy of the German scope design. Probably you should look into getting a WWI scope like the Fuess, Hensoldt or Goerz? They should be available from time to time.

I was actually just looking at two yesterday on eBay. They lack the objective lens bell, and would be more appropriate than the ZF39. But I still cannot judge the scope's length, and the P14T is somewhat unique in that the scope's scale to the rifle appears to be much shorter than many others. Anyone know that number?

I measured approx. 215mm length. Comparing it with German scopes it appears that it is most similar to the Hensoldt Dialyt WWI scope - see the attached picture. If you make a brass housing at the front you will nearly perfectly copy the 1918 scope design. And both scopes have a 22mm tube.
Edit: do a search for „Hensoldt Ziel Dialyt“, this should be the correct model.

If you're looking for a useable scope to get you going the Lyman Alaskan is has a 7/8" tube which is the same as the PP Co M1918 scope.
I use one on my rifle just in case, spare lenses aren't easy to come by.
Cheers,
Simon.

Simon, are the rings on the Lyman scope the reproduction rings or ones you made yourself?
