One more USMC photo to guess date of
The last one was to easy, this one may be a bit tougher. Again sorry for the quality of photo but still should be enough clues for a close guess. In fact, while looking at the photo, I noticed a good clue that will put you right in the ballpark.

1950 Inchon?
Embarking for the 1950 Inchon amphibious assault, is my guess. Attached photo shows 'em disembarking.

Answer to when picture was taken
As far as the equipment goes, not a whole lot of difference between Korea and the time this photo was taken. In fact most of the equipment is WW2. Marines used there gear until it fell apart then if it could be repaired it was still used. At least up through the 60s.
Anyway, as far as this photo,
This picture is of the same group of Marines in the other picture. It is 3rd Bn, 8th Marines, loading on transport in Morehead City N.C. for the trip to Vieques in March of 1957. One good clue that the picture is post 1956, but hard to make out unless you know what your looking for, is the M5 bayonet hanging off left side cartridge belts. Prior to 1956 Marines were still using the 10" bladed M1 Bayonet, and it would have been attached to the left side of the haversack. If you count the Marines in the outer file, from the rear, note Marine # 8 with his head down, you should be able to make out the M5 Bayonet. You can also make out the M5 Bayonet on the 3rd Marine from the rear, but granted, you need to look real close.
Thanks for taking a guess. Semper Fi, Joe
