I have a short version that came from the collection of the late, great Jerry Janzen. I've looked it over very thoroughly as well as had other well known collecters check it over. It does not appear to have been shortened but rather made in the short configuration.
I am off to Baltimore in the AM and have about a million things to do before leaving. I'll try to remember to post some pictures when I get back.

Porterkids,
I think the one I have was cut down from 16", it has the same markings on the blade as the 16" ones. It would be nice to see some pictures of yours. The scabbard was made from parts in my junk box.

Mine is finished in silver to look like a real blade, all the rest i have noticed are black natural finish, or has the silver just worn off?

The contract number is on the blade of Mk I bayonets, they are: BM Co. NORD 3066, PB Co. NXSO-17249, PB Co. NXSO-29524. If it is one of those three it is a cut down bayonet.
