While having a few beers today ...
Here in France on a bit of a wet Sunday afternoon, with not much else to do, the proprietor of the bar kindly let me have a fondle with his gorgeous bunny popper. Unfortunately, customers were arriving (quite rare around here) so I couldn't really do a strip down.
However, I did manage to recognize it as a 1915 SMLE with cut-off and volley sights. Dark polished wood, but no markings. Lamentabley it is now a .410 smooth-bore with welded mag. Most markings on the metal have been obscured, even the nose cap (bolt not seen). It had a Q serial number and ENGLAND visible on top, no sign of DP.
Question ... what would you guys do with it , leave it on the wall, or restore it back to spec.?

It has a history of it's own. Probably fought two wars. On the other hand, it could have wound up being found by a citizen a few meters from where it now lives back in 1916 or so...
