Springfield barrel information please
Hi guys. A friend ask me to post a picture and seek information on this Springfield barrel. About when was it made? Would it have possibly been used on production pistols like early Rem. Rands, or would it be used as a replacement barrel, or both? Thanks.

I would guess it is a WWII replacement barrel, but I didn't know they stamped the drawing number on the side as shown in your photo

The barrel below is a Springfield WWII replacement with the drawing number C 3838-4, and D4 heat lot number. The WWII replacement barrels by Springfield occasionally show up with the drawing number.
