So how rare is this one?
A 1918 SSA peddle scheme LE that bears the Fianna Fail marking. Just found her in a pawn shop. All matching, no import marks. First peddle I've seen that was used by the IFSA.

Sounds like a nice rifle. 1918 SSAs are relatively uncommon, but not rare. FF markings are the same...not dropping out of the sky left and right, but not terribly rare either. There certainly are collectors who would pay a bit of a premium over a bog standard SMLE.

Considering total British production during the Great War, you can call SSA's contribution about 3%.
But the factory turned out NRFs for most of the year, so a 1918 SSA would be relatively scarce....... perhaps 30% of 3%...... or 1%.
How many Fianna Fail rifles were SSAs?
By chance alone they should be about 3%.... or 1% should be 1918s.
So it's 1% of Fianna Fail rifles......
Sorta scarce, I would think, although slightly more common than turkey dentures.
I, for one, would really like to see photos.
Some folks just have ALL the luck!
