Lewis Gun Transit Chest
Was not sure where to post this, but since it was LMG related I figured I would start here. This was recent $25 antique mall find here in the US.

Would the Vickers and Lewis fit in the same chest? Are these very common? I assume it has been repainted.
Now I just wish I had the Lewis to go in it.

Yep, made to take both weapons. Not at the same time though!

For the Lewis does it fit in with the buttstock attached

Very nice pick up for that price, now you just need something to go in it.

Also the basis for converting to hold another Vickers made gun. Off the top of my head I can't remember if its the Vickers-Berthier LMG or the Vickers K/GO. Either way I have the drawings on the proper computer so I'll look it up later. Nice find. Getting the chests for what I've kept is something I must get around to.

Nice find. The butt is removed to fit the Lewis in the chest.

Thanks Brian. Now only if I had a Lewis to go in it. To dream!

The orange painted inside is typical of the Lithgow (Australia) chests.
