Canadian Sub Machine Gun C1 cleaning kit

I recently purchased this cleaning kit. The main reason that I purchased it is, what appears to me, to be the unique and neat design of incorporating the oil bottle as an integral part of the plastic casing. I have not noticed one of these cleaning kits for sale before in the UK. It has now been confirmed that this is a Sub Machine Gun C1 cleaning kit and thanks for to BAR for doing so.

There should also be a jag and a bronze brush in the kit. They attach to the threaded portion of the pull through.
I bought about 20 of these cleaning kits a while back, and ended up with some loose parts once they were all set up with their full EIS. I'll check the shed when I'm out there next and see if I have those missing parts in case you are interested.

Likewise, I'll have a look and see if there's a 35 PH jag with the center slot and I know I have a 35 short PH brush... Yes. The SMG C1 kit...

So...after all the stuff I had, I recall now moving most to a dealer near and dear to our hearts. I have one remaining slotted 9mm jag and the short brushes are revolver brushes available at PH website. The shorties were never any good as they shed bristles quick as you used them. I have a smack of the longer 35 cal PH brushes though...

Here's the jag I have and the brush from PH website. I'd mail it just for laughs, it's not worth anything to me. Just nostalgia...

Thanks for all that information, Jim. The 2 plastic bristle brushes that I have in the kit, one toothbrush like and the other a straight brush, will screw together to form a double ended brush. Is that how they are intended to be used or are they supposed to screw onto something else, please?

Another aspect to the design of the case that I notice and like is the "properly constructed working hinge" and not just relying on "flexing plastic" to act as hinge.

If you have any bits that should be in the kit but are missing, I am interested please and will offer you something for them and pay the shipping.

The toothbrush is correct and like other parts didn't last too long in service. They would come apart... Screw them together and get working.

The cases existed even after the oil bottle outer might crack or the seal gives up. Still they worked well enough over time.

Jim has kindly sent me the jag which was missing from my Canadian C1 cleaning kit and which screws onto the pull-through. Thank-you Jim. The bore brush which was also missing, I have currently got "represented" by a SLR chamber brush (from a UK SLR cleaning kit) which does happen to screw onto the pull-through.

.45 cal FN gas cylinder brush...had to expand the pic to see it. But truth be told, I did on more than one occasion use that very brush in the SMG as it could go through without issue.

One of those cases is on my "must have" unicorn list. I think I saw one sell on gun nutz years ago and it was sold by the time I saw it.

There were 30,000 SMG C1s made. Surely there were not that many of these chests, or they would be around. There were only 20,000 Cno7 rifles made and those chests are very common. Even the Cdn sniper chests, of which there woudl have been only around 1500, can still be found.

Do you have any photos of the inner of this chest Warren?
