Welcome to the forums!
Your Yugoslavian SKSs without the grenade launcher is the rather scarcer variant. Wouldn't mind finding one myself. Mine has the launcher adaptation, but what led me to purchase it was the religous icon decal applied to the side of the buttstock.
The first rifle i ever purchased was an SMLE. (Circa 1979) Still have it and is still a favorite!

Welcome to the boards. I like those stripes too.
The first rifle I ever bought myself was also an SKS, although it is a Romanian one. It is one of the two guns I kept when I moved from CA to TX.

My first Milsurp was an SMLE and I still have it. Probably purchased around 1987 or so. My first rifle was a Savage 99 for $50 and would have been around 1979 or so.
My Yugo is unfortunately California legal and thus had the grenade launcher removed and a flash suppressor added and spot welded in place. I've often debated the worth of trying to get that off and a launcher installed. Nothing else was affected although I did have to get a bayonet for it.

That is indeed a gorgeous SKS. My first rifle was a refurbished 1950 Russian Tula SKS with laminate stock. Still have it along with a second non-refurbished 1954 Russian Tula SKS.
