    Garand Hammer Question

I have a M1icon rifle with serial number 5853418. It might be all correct, but I am not sure about the hammer. It has a SA D5546008 hammer and Duff's book indicates it should have a SA 5546008. No "D". Since all other parts are correct,is it possible that this hammer is correct?

As per Scott Duff, " The SA D5546008 marked hammer was used in the 4.32 to 6.09 serial number range. Again, significant overlap is noted."
