147XXX Inland Barrel with no markings

The barrel on my Inland does not have any markings on it that I can tell. In the one blown up picture, there may be a "1" stamped on the flat? It also has odd colorations, as shown in the photos. Thoughts on whether it is USGI or Commercial?

Did you check the front of the gas cylinder? It looks a bit like an Inland barrel to me. Give us a better picture of the gas cylinder swage area. There are some charateristics of the swage that may identify the barrel.

The lack of typical Inland hieroglyphics on the bottom flat would also be a concern. There is a very good article in the current CC NL about commercial firms in years past using 1903 barrels to make carbine barrels.

here are a couple more pictures, zoomed in on the flat. They are as high resolution as I could make them to meet the size requirements. There are some "odd markings" here and there on the flat, but they are not very clear. If you zoom in and pan around, you may be able to see something?

edit: also adding a pic of the chamber area in case it helps.

The detailed pictures show that it isn't an Inland barrel. The milling is wrong. It could be one of the Germanicon manfactured barrels made for the Austrian carbines. The milling on the flat matches. as does the milling on the gas cylider.

Last year I bought a 400xxx Inland. I could only find this marking on barrel. The one on right is Inland marked and the one on left is unmarked, except as shown. Does yours have any makings in this area? I still don't know manuf. of this barrel.

    Skirt?

after looking at the skirt thread, it looks like my barrel has the "old" version. does that help at all in determining the barrels origins?

i'll look for more markings and take some more pictures this weekend.

    more pics

Here are some pics of the gas cylinder area. I cannot see any markings in the gas cylinder area. The only definitive marking I can see on the barrel flat is the "1." But it appears there may be a faint triangle closer to the reciever. And maybe a series of squares under the notch area?
