    WWII M1 Garand Rifle Scabbard

    Dear Collectors,
I have been today to Militalia, a militaria fair out of Milan, and I bought a WWII M1icon Garand Rifle Leather Scabbard. It is marked " US J.Q.M.D. "
Please tell me if it is original or a reproduction and its approximate year of make.
    Thank you in advance.

    Here are some pictures.

I thought it was original...but wasn't sure about the strap keepers. So I thought I'd just wait. The rest is gorgeous...

I think straps have been replaced along the years. Their leather is a different colour if compared to the scabbard one.

Many cases the straps had disappeared and had to be sourced...

Today I went back to Militalia and I bought a M1icon Carbine Leather Scabbard.

It's not in good shape like the M1 Garand one I had bought yesterday, but I think it's original anyway.

    Here are some pictures.

I think( for what that's worth) these are original. They appear to match, I meant they were different from the other straps by the method they're constructed. No, I think this one's all correct. I'm still not sure about the straps on the other. There's a few here that will be along to confirm them...eventually.
    Regards, Jim
