I thought that they stopped using walnut stocks around 1946. Do you think that the stock is a replacement?

Very possible, some stocks were forgotten in storage for some time.

well unfortunately I was looking for one made during or before WWII so it looks like this one is out of the picture. Its on Gunbroker for $350 and a buy now of $450 lot #349947049. It is in outstanding condition with the exception of the dings on the stock and the gentleman who is selling it is very responsive to questions. If anybody wants to take a look at it it would be worth your time.

I believe the walnut stocks ended in 1943 due to war shortages. They are usually stamped a year prior to the rifle assembly date so manufacture of walnut stocks was probably 1942.
Is the date of the stock identified?
Shame as walnut usually is a wartime piece. His start bid price is about normal for what these seem to be going for these days. $450 is really pushing it.
