WWII Navy US/C-3 Infrared Signaling Telescope
Hi all,
I have a WWII Navy US/C-3 Infrared Signaling Scope model MI-2558-A that my father gave me a few years ago. It is just sitting in my closet gathering dust so I figure I should sell it to a collector that can appreciate it.
I found this info about these from snyderstreasures.com;
The US/C-3 Infrared Signaling Telescope was designed for secure night-time signaling with shipboard infrared-filtered yardarm blinkers US/X-12 or signal searchlights and various beacons. The most common use was as an infrared beacon placed on a landing (or pick-up) site by an Underwater Demolition Team frogman (UDT) team to guide pick-up vessels to the site."
It is in nice shape, has no dents but it does have a couple small scratches in the paint. It is powered by 2 D cell batteries and IT WORKS! Turn it on and you get a healthy humm from the unit. I took it outside at night and used an IR light and, sure enough, it works great. The glass is clear and not scratched. I do not have the case for it.
What would be a fair price for me to ask to someone that just cant live without it in their collection?
Thanks in advance!
