My uncle Hank was in the 1st. I.D. in RVN at that time. I'll have to ask him what Reg. and Bat. He was at the time 26 and a Dutch national, got drafted went to Infantry school and was assigned to the 1st. I.D. The entire Div. went to Nam on a ship. When they unloaded their bags everything was so moldy they burned it all and had very little in the way of cloths and boots. He said at first they virtually slept in holes in the rain. They had a hard learning curve and walked into a lot of ambushes in the beginning. He was sprayed with A.O. and later had a daughter that was born with a misfiguered hand. When his tour was over and he processed out in Cal. they told him that because he wasn't a U.S. citizen he could have opted out of service in RVN. He never protested or complained it and later became a U.S. citizen. He's a great guy and I love him.....Frank
