    Hello,looking to identify this Mauser Erfurt 1887,mod 71/84 tubular magazin,total lenght of rifle 44 inches,bend bolt,thank for the info

    Nothing special, I think. It seems to be just a sporterized rifle made by cutting down an Erfurt-made Prussian M71/84. The 71s and 71/84s were sold off in masses after the introduction of the Gew88 and 98, and many of them were arsenal-mint. So a great number were sporterized, even (M1871) turned into shotguns. Good examples can be found on P.34 of Olson/Mauser Bolt Rifles/3rd Edition.

    71/84 sporter. Looks like it has been parkerized? Originally made in excellent rust blue, with receiver in the white. Should be a nice deer rifle.
