Alternative use - Bren Cover and the No.4(T)
I picked up this mint condition, 1940 dated Mk1 pattern Bren cover, used for the Bren in an AA role. They seem to be quite scarce and were listed incorrectly in Gordon's Weapons of the WWII Tommy as a Lewis Gun cover. I was going to sell it, as it outside of my collecting sphere, but then wondered if it would fit a No.4(T) with its scope fitted. The short answer is - it fits as if the two were made for each other. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a shoulder strap.

I think I saw it on ebay recently. I'm sure someone mentioned (Possibly Peter) that these were found to shrink quite badly and were recalled for modification by stiching in new material.

Thanks Nige. I was going to sell or trade mine as well, but now, maybe not (will just have to remember not to take it out in the rain)......
